Hi, my name is Dar and welcome to my Blog! I live in a small rural town in mid-west Michigan very close to the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan. Growing up along the white sandy shores has always inspired me to be creative. As a result, this creativity turned me into a very artistic person. A person who is always creating pieces of art using many designs and different media types. These designs usually end up being DIY projects that are truly artistic creations for fun-ctionality in life

As a young adult, becoming a nurse was appealing to my parents. As a result, I had a very well rounded and successful nursing career that spanned over 30 years. I became ill myself, with a number of over lapped auto immune disorders that brought me to a screeching halt! Because of this, I turned to my love of art for therapy which has always been there for me. So, expressing myself through the artistic creations that I share brings smiles to those around me as well as myself.

My mission

When understanding my mission for achieving artistic creations for fun-ctionality in ones life, my motto is this. I am the “Jack of all trades”, and master of most. Because of this I have always been compelled to teach, which comes quite naturally for me. As a result, teaching for me is extremely fulfilling and rewarding . I feel that it is wonderful therapy for all involved to successfully master their own projects. Hopefully, minus the mistakes I have made along the way. As well as, avoiding all the band aids which I have had to apply!

My artistic vision

To complete my vision with artistic creations, it requires me to use my knowledge and share it. To share my jewelry making, pottery making, painting, and furniture artistry, is absolutely fulfilling for me. Also, inspiring someone to create pieces of art on their own knowing the satisfaction that it brings them, is priceless. To teach people about health care issues, along with some canning/gardening, is the frosting on the cake! So, take some time and come along with me on a artistic adventure.
